Although the world's warmer we all feel it still
The coming of Christmas, the wintery chill
We're paying on credit, ignoring the bill
Merry Christmas, everything's fucked
We just had a tornado tear over four states
The Amazon workers, all packing up crates
Of shit we don't need, well, not all escaped
Merry Christmas, everything's fucked
If you live in Texas or old Mississip'
Your body is subject to men's power trips
We're doing our best, but it's in the court's grip
Merry Christmas, everything's fucked
The cops will kill you if you step out of line
And incarcerators are working full time
But white kids with rifles, well they'll be just fine
Merry Christmas, everything's fucked
And the ex-president's men are still plotting and scheming
The first coup didn't take but now they're all dreaming
Much bigger and bolder, and I fear they’re succeeding
Merry Christmas, everything's fucked
And then there’s the virus, of course it’s still here
Still thousands are dying each day and I fear
We’ve signed ourselves up for another hard year
Merry Christmas, everything's fucked
It gets harder each day to see slivers of light
But we must continue to seek out delight
We must show love and kindness wherever we can
We must work together to take down The Man
If we fail today, then let’s try tomorrow
If you don’t have something, just ask, you can borrow
It’s not true that love is all that we need
But without it we’ll fail, and that’s guaranteed
So if you wake up on the 25th day
Of December and all that’s around you is grey
Find someone you love and embrace them and say
“Merry Christmas, everything’s fucked.”
One of the finest albums of the first decade of the 21st century. Michael Sanchez is perhaps the world's most underrated songwriter. Levi Fuller & the Library

Longevity is a marker of quality,I think.
Ball of Wax is 10 years young and in the 21st Century music diaspora that is no mean feat...
Always progressive (even when addressing the past),always eclectic with an element of the unpredictable, always challenging and always genuine...you can't really ask for more and I am looking forward to the next ten years listening (when I will be in my seventies...ah! and there's still so much more to listen to and learn from!).
